Hefazat leader Mamunul granted bail in rape case

A Narayanganj court has granted bail to Mamunul Haque, joint secretary general of the defunct committee of Hefazet Islam in the rape case filed with Sonargaon police station.

Narayanganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Nazmul Haque Shyamal's court granted the bail on Thursday.

Mamunul Haque was absent from the court during the bail hearing.

Advocate AKM Omar Farooq Nayan said: “We have presented arguments in favour of bail. We have presented the medical board’s report."

The plaintiff's son testified in court that Mamunul Haque was married to his mother.

The court granted bail after considering these issues.
